Sticky note cranes

A Post-It™ (aka sticky note) is a small piece of paper with a strip (around \(\frac {1}{2}"\) to \(\frac {3}{4}"\) wide) of gentle adhesive along the top edge of its back side. Typically brightly colored and approximately \(3"\) square ( \(± \frac {1}{16} ”\) ), the paper is high enough quality to write on with Sharpie™ (or other alcohol-based marker). It is the perfect container for a single piece of information.

Each of the paper cranes in the sculpture above is folded from a sticky note.

We used a lot of post it notes in college. At some point, I started diverting used sticky notes from the single stream recycling bins around campus into collection bins and folding them into origami cranes.
